Changes compared to the previous year

In 2024, there were many changes introduced in SAT as compared to the earlier year.

  • Digital Format: Last year the SAT switched to a fully digital format from the paper-based exams for students in Nepal.
  • Shortened Test Time: The newly introduced digital SAT exam was reduced from three hours to two to make the testing experience more helpful for both students and educators.
  • GraphingCalculator Usage: Unlike the previous format, the new SAT allows the use of calculators throughout the entire math section to provide students with more tools to solve math problems.
  • Faster Results: The time of results is faster now. Students receive their score reports within some days rather than waiting for weeks.
  • Adaptive Testing: The digital format of the SAT introduced adaptive testing to improve testing security and efficiency. In which the difficulty of the test questions depends on the student’s performance on previous questions.

The digital SAT reflects the College Board’s efforts to modernize, as per the evolving needs of students and educational institutions by improving accessibility, efficiency, and fairness in the testing process.

SAT Exam Fee in Nepal for 2025

In Nepal, taking the SAT exam costs $111, including a $68 general fee and a $43 country-specific fee. This, however, does not cover bank charges or taxes, so keep that in mind when budgeting for the test.

Other fees, include a test center fee of $24 in select locations, late registration fees is $34, change test center fees of $29, and registration cancellation fees of $29. There is a late cancellation fee of $39 and if you need older scores, it will cost you $35.

There are fees for score-related services as well. Additional score reports cost $14 each, rush reports are $31, and getting scores by phone costs $15 per call. It is important to plan for these fees when preparing for the SAT.

If you do not have an international credit card, you can use the services provided by local banks to make the payment.

It is important to note that several factors influence the SAT exam fee in Nepal, including currency exchange rates, administrative costs, and policies set by the College Board.
